Editorial and Recipe Review Policy

This page explains what our labels mean and, just as importantly, what they do not mean.

Cornerstone recipe review

Our search-engine sitemap currently contains a focused set of 40 cornerstone recipes. Before a recipe enters that set, an editor checks that:

the ingredient list is present and usable;
the instructions are complete and in a workable order;
timing, servings, cuisine, difficulty, and other core metadata are present; and
the recipe has passed public-content moderation.

This is an editorial completeness review, not a kitchen test. We do not claim that our team cooked a community recipe unless the page carries a separate kitchen-tested statement supported by real test notes.

Recipes awaiting review

The wider community catalog remains available to visitors. Pages that have not completed the current review are excluded from the XML and HTML search indexes and carry a noindex, follow directive until they are improved.

AI-assisted text

Some recipe descriptions and extended notes were drafted with AI assistance. We do not treat automated expansion as evidence that a recipe was cooked, tested, or photographed. Formulaic or unsupported passages are revised or removed during substantive review.

Photos

A recipe displays a photo only when the exact recipe-to-image pairing passes our source and identity checks. If the match is uncertain, the page displays No Photo. Stock or generated images are never presented as evidence of kitchen testing.

Corrections and reader feedback

If you find an unclear quantity, missing step, inaccurate statement, or unsuitable image, please contact us. We investigate substantive reports and update the review date when a reviewed page changes materially.

Advertising boundaries

Ad code is limited to substantive, indexable content pages. Login, account, search, filtered, empty, administrative, and unreviewed recipe pages are kept ad-free. Advertising does not determine which recipes enter the reviewed set.
